Germany (Child’s Birth)

Germany (Child’s Birth)

Birth Customs Around the World By:  Lora Shaken, From American Study

One of my co –workers went to Germany because, her husband was in the Army.  While living in a new environment and learning their culture she had 2 children.  I read an article about “Birth Customs Around the World” I chose the women in Germany.   In Germany the “Midwives make sure the mothers receive prenatal care.  Also, the “midwives must be at all births when mother are expected to deliver but, it’s optional for her doctor to present”.   As of today we do not need midwives to teach us about prenatal care.  We attend prenatal classes once pregnancy has been established with follow up visits, and given meds from our doctor to ensure the growth and development of the child.
