ASTHMA A DIEASES THAT AFFECT CHILDREN AND ADULTS

Asthma can cause serve damage to one’s body.  “Asthma is a disease which causes the airways of our lungs to swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness and coughing”. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

I chose this topic due to last month I was having asthma attacks repeat.  I was diagnosed with Asthma at age 35 years old.  My dad was diagnosed with it at age 24 years old.  Three weeks ago on Monday morning at 6am and continue through my day until about 12 noon.  Yes, I took breathing treatments but, to only have a short relief.  The following weeks my breath became little to not having anything which lead me to being admitted into the hospital.  Listed below are some things which are known to trigger of a person’s asthma.

  • Tobacco smoke / a person smoking around you
  • Exercising
  • Meds with aspirins & other NSAIDS
  • Pet dander / pet hair
  • Dust mites
  • Mold
  • Breathing in pollen
  • Chemicals

Doctors my use steroids / inhaler to treat asthma.  Being treated with steroids can be for a short period or long last depending on how serve.  The possible complication of this is not being able to get help from the doctor or no one is around to assist you and it could lead to deaf.  I stated this because, this was me last week.  I had no one around me.  My neighbors were all at work, my does not drive anymore due to her eyesight, husband at work and all I had was my daycare toddlers and infants with me.  I prayed my way driving them across town home due to their mom has no car and continue on praying my way to the hospital with shortness of breath.  Due to coughing I strain my muscle and lungs and now there’s some damage done.  How much I don’t know yet but on Friday June 6 the “Pulmonary team will give me their opinion Praising God for keeping Me Alive!!
