“Train
up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from
it”.
Saying these words brings a chill over me;
because parents of today have let respect and the training of their child /
children go a stray from their homes.
If, we read this passage it has a meaning for our children and their
parents. The meaning is a child’s “Home
where they receive their learning first and it spreads abroad through school
and their daily lives.
I have heard that quote before, but it has been a long time since I heard it last. It is so important to help children have self confidence at an early age, affecting how they view the world and grow or fail. In my infant room, it is already apparent who is the stronger, more assured child compared to one who is fearful and unsure. Since more and more children spend the majority of their wakeful hours with us, we need to shoulder the responsibility to bring up strong confident people. Do you agree?
ReplyDeleteYes, the children are in our care approximately 12 hours of the day, and it's our duty to mold them to be eager learners, to have self - confidence and help build their self - esteem. I notice parents put all the burden on us as early childhood professionals due to they believe we have the answers in developing their child / children's need. I have that quote on the wall in my home and in the daycare.
