Quotes From Week 2 Media Segment

Louise Derman - Sparks passion was "Making sure all children were taught in a
environment that nurtured their ability to grow, and develop in their fullest ability.
Having a environment that is equip with the necessary tools will meet the
needs of all children.

Renatta M. Cooper told us "It's not all about you!  You have to take your ego out
of it and think about what's best for the child".
This is true because, their are some early childhood professionals that go on an
ego trip and stop focusing on the children.  As an early childhood professional one
needs to drop their situation at their front door and put the children and their families
first.  We are here to help parents meet the need of their child / children.

Raymond Hermandez :  "I'm not here to save the world, I'm here to make a difference
in the community that I'm working in".

Sandy Escobido  states "We as professionals in the early childhood field have opportunities
to shape the child's lives for the better".

Leticia Lara

Parent's need support, resources with an access to resources, parents can thrive".

Parent's know that we support their children's needs, and have access to resource
which, can help in meeting their children's need, and they do thrive on it.  It
reminds me of the 4 year old that's still wetting on himself.  I suggest to the
mom going to see an Physician due to the problem was overwhelming.

  1. Hi Lawana, Thank you for sharing the quotes that spoke to you. I really enjoyed your quote from Renatta Cooper. As a teacher we have to leave our personal beliefs and values out because they are not the same as the child. The teacher needs to be there for the child not for the teacher but for the children. Thank you again for sharing!
