THE IMPORTANCE OF DENTAL HYGIENE
THE IMPORTANCE OF DENTAL HYGIENE
I found this article to be very interesting for caregivers / provides that have infant / preschoolers and toddlers in their care. Due to some parents believe their child / children are too young for to get their teeth brushed. Bacteria and decay begins to exist soon when, and infants teeth breaks through his / her gums. Parents should start caring for their child / children’s soon as they see teeth appear. As you notice your infant spouting their teeth use a cloth or wrap a piece of gauze around your finger, and choose an infant appropriate toothpaste. Also, massage around the gums with a soft tooth brush.
This can be done before your son / daughter falls asleep. Another way to prevent tooth decay is never allow infants to fall asleep with a bottle of milk / juice. What happens is “sugar from the milk and juices pools up conducive for bacterial growth and decay”. Another thing parents should avoid doing is dipping the babies teething ring in juices, and this “exposes the teeth to acid which, will attack and cause decay in newly formed teeth. Listed below are books on “Dental Hygiene” parents can read to their children, and a website with activities for caregivers and provides to use in their curriculum.
